Built for Windows
Finally a PuTTY replacement
PuTTY is 25 years old. Termique brings a modern UI - host groups, one-click connect, SSH key management, and AI - to Windows for the first time in one app.
Credentials stored in Windows Credential Manager
AES-GCM encrypted credentials are stored in the Windows Credential Manager. No plaintext files, no clipboard exposure, no cloud sync required.
Works alongside WSL
Termique connects to remote servers directly over SSH. Use it alongside WSL or any Windows terminal - they complement each other rather than compete.
Multi-tab, not one window per host
PuTTY opens a separate window per session, which is why people end up with eleven of them. Termique keeps sessions as tabs in one window, grouped by environment or client.

SSH on Windows: common questions
Is there a free SSH client for Windows?
Yes. Termique is free to download, with unlimited hosts and sessions plus SFTP on the free tier. PuTTY is also free; the difference is that Termique stores credentials in an encrypted vault and keeps sessions as tabs.
What is the best PuTTY alternative for Windows?
It depends on what you are missing. If it is a host list and stored credentials, Termique covers that. If it is an X11 server and a Unix toolchain, MobaXterm is the better answer. If you need serial console access, keep PuTTY or Tera Term.
Can I import my PuTTY sessions?
PuTTY keeps sessions in the Windows registry rather than a file. Export them with reg export HKCU\Software\SimonTatham\PuTTY\Sessions first, or point Termique at a ~/.ssh/config if you keep one for WSL.
Does it need admin rights to install?
No. The user-level install does not require administrator privileges, which matters on managed corporate machines.
Does it work with .ppk keys?
Termique uses the standard OpenSSH key format. Convert a .ppk once with PuTTYgen (Conversions > Export OpenSSH key) and it then works with Termique, ssh, scp and CI alike.
